I grew up on a tobacco and cattle farm in Snow Creek, Virginia, where my daddy worked the fields during the day and made moonshine at night. Life out there was not always easy, but it shaped me in ways I carry with me every single day. It taught me respect, a strong work ethic, the difference between right and wrong, and a faith that held steady no matter what the world threw my way. Those lessons have been my compass through this journey we call life.
Over the years I have worked just about anywhere a good pair of hands was needed. I pulled tobacco, worked in textiles, traveled with my daddy while he did demolition, kept books, cooked in correctional food service, ran my own business at The Wrealth Loft and Café, and stepped into the world of property management. Every job added another stitch to the fabric of who I am.
The land where Bondurant’s Ridge Mercantile sits today holds a special place in my heart. My grandparents, Bud and Imogene Bondurant, gifted it to me when I was in my early twenties. Their love, their confidence in me, and their belief that I would make something meaningful here have carried me forward in ways I can never truly repay.
Bondurant’s Ridge is built on family legacy. Long before I dreamed of opening these doors, my great grandfather Granville Bondurant ran Bondurant’s General Store in Sutton’s Hollow in Snow Creek. Folks back then knew it as a place to gather, to trade stories, and to pick up whatever they needed for the week. And Ridge is my son’s name, which makes this place even more personal. Bondurant’s Ridge is a blend of where we come from and who we are becoming.
Inside these walls you will find vintage treasures, second love clothing, new styles, jewelry, handmade home décor, and freshly prepared desserts and foods to take home. My hope is to create a place where you can come for a treat, pick up lunch or dinner, wander a little, and take in the view that has meant so much to my family.
Every piece of this mercantile holds a story of faith, family, hard work and community.
